Depending on the Quality of your Joinery, Water Ingress can happen with a Home SoftWash. Although we do everything we can to prevent this, in order to provide a great exterior finish sometimes some water will come in. Unfortunately as the age and quality is outside of our control, we are unable to provide a guarantee or the like that no water will come inside. This is why we suggest placing old towels near these places, especially if you have not had your Home SoftWashed before and may not know where the leak points may be when a SoftWash Occurs. The reason we mention “Old Towels” is because of the colour changing aspects of our Sodium Hydrochloride (Liquid Chlorine/”Bleach”) + Bio-degradeable House Wash Mix.
- Please ensure that all of your doors and windows are completely shut. Please visually inspect weather stripping and place old towels inside on the sills if you know you have leaking issues or in-doubt. Even though this is a SoftWash Service and not using damaging high-pressure, we will do our utmost care to prevent any water ingress.
- Please ensure that we have access to all parts of your property.
- Please ensure that we have access to a working water source.
- Please ensure that all of your pets and children are inside the home.
- Please move your vehicle off the driveway if you can.

Outdoor Items: Please move all potted plants, tables, chairs, decor, etc., at least a few metres away from the house. Our amazing technicians sometimes work alone and having these items moved allows them to do their job without incurring additional costs.
Our House Washing Terms of Service:
We are not responsible or liable for any of the following:
Pre-existing damage to any parts of your home including siding, fascia, roofing, windows, screens, concrete, pavers, stonework, brick, tile, decks, fencing, gutters, or roofing.
The nature of this gentle washing technique is such that some tough or stubborn dirt or marks can remain after washing. The presence of such stains or marks is accepted by the Client.
Standard Soft Washing does not include the removal of any of the following: Rust, oil, grease, glue, paint, caulk, concrete, or any other non-organic material from your surfaces.
Please note, our Soft Wash service is a House Wash Service only and your Window’s will be SoftWashed and Triple-Rinsed. This will leave the Window’s clean, but will not provide a superior “streak-free, spotless” finish. If you wish to have your Exterior Window’s Cleaned, we would be more than happy to do this at an additional cost, starting at $115.00 incl. GST for a 1-2 Bedroom Home.
Buildings are never completely water-tight, particularly villas and other older homes. We take the utmost care when washing but it is expected that small amounts of water may enter the building during a wash. The SoftWash Company is not responsible for any damage that this might cause nor for
cleaning up any water that might come inside.
The client must advise us if there are any areas of the building that are not watertight ahead of the wash so that these areas can receive particular attention by our Technicians.
By Requesting a Home SoftWash Service from “The SoftWash Company” you hereby accept these Terms of Services outlined above and the Expanded Version Below.
Final Walk-Around:
We tend to do a final walk-around with our customers (if you are home) before the invoice is sent to ensure that they are happy with their service upon completion!

Like all New Zealand Based House Washing Businesses, we use Sodium Hydrochloride (Liquid Chlorine/”Bleach”) along with a Bio-degradeable House Wash Mix which works as a surfactant.
We treat every house differently. Our technicians will evaluate the condition of your home, and then mix the detergent onsite. Our detergent is biodegradable, safe to human, pets, and plants, and proven to be effective.
If you are not a fan of Bleach, that’s fine! Unfortunately we will not be able to provide you with a SoftWash Service as this is the only reason we can provide a SoftWash in a way that does not harm your property with high pressure, along with being able to do it in a time-effective manner.
No, although we would love to see you and chat with you, we are able to perform all of our exterior cleaning services without you being present at your home. If you plan to be away from home during the time of service please allow us to have access to all parts of your property that will be requiring cleaning. However, if you are wishing to get your Interior Windows done, we would require either access instructions or for you to be home. In case you need to head out, we tend to do the Interior Windows first!

Please move any vehicles off your driveway prior to our arrival.
We would recommend to leave your vehicles off your driveway for at least 2-3 Hours upon completion of the clean!

- If Required, Please let us know which garbage bin you would like us to dispose of all of the debris that is extracted from your gutters.
Our gutter cleaning terms of service:
We are not responsible for any pre-existing damages to your gutters or your siding. we are not responsible for the outcome of your gutters in any way if they are not in good condition or any of the following criteria is present: loose nails rotting wood or any visible detachment of the gutter from the house. If your gutters need downspout clearing we do offer this service but we do not provide underground clearing of the downspouts.
Before we arrive, please have all the window treatments such as blinds up and curtains drawn, with the clear path to the windows.
We tend to do the Interior Window’s first (before we could possibly get wet!) incase you may need to head out, and we absolutely ensure that our friendly staff have their shoes off.
Although our solution we use is harmless, we use towels as a way to ensure water does not get onto electronics and/or potentially going onto furniture.

In order for us to keep our schedule intact and promptly serve all of our customers, we do continue to schedule house washing, pressure washing, and window cleaning jobs even if there is rain on the forecast. We are able to clean in light rain but if there is heavy rainfall we will reschedule.
If you are home during the cleaning payment is due upon completion of our service. You may pay in the form of credit card, VISA, or Mastercard. If you are not home during the cleaning service then we will email you an invoice with a link to a payment portal which you can then pay with a credit card or via Bank Transfer. Payment is due within seven business days of the sent invoice.
We do not clean any Cedar or the Soffit’s/Eave’s near Cedar due to the extreme risk of streaking. If you have a small amount of Cedar (Entrance Way for Example) we will subsequently have to do a small discount if we are unable to to clean the eave and soffit above it. We apologise for any inconvenience in advance.
The SoftWash Company/Squee:gee Window Cleaning undertakes all services with care and diligence. However we cannot be held liable for unforeseen and unpreventable outcomes while undertaking building washing at your premises.
1. Application
The following terms of trade (“Terms”) shall apply to all commercial, industrial and residential building chemical washing/washing and other services supplied to you by The SoftWash Company/Squee:gee Window Cleaning These Terms will prevail if there is any inconsistency with any other document.
2. Quotes
These Terms apply to any quote we give you.
Any changes to the quantities, measurements or specifications or nature of the services required subsequent to any quote provided by us or any inaccuracies or misstatements in the information provided to us, shall constitute a variation to our quote and shall be charged to you as an addition to the quote. We will not star the service before acceptance by yourself on the variation in the final amount.
3. Our Obligations and Risk
You must strictly comply with any instructions, questions, directions, and any cautions and/or warnings or aftercare instructions (“How to Prepare for Your Service”) we provide you in respect of the Services.
You agree:
1. To let us know about any areas of the buildings which will be chemical washed/washed, treated or cleared (“the Premises”) which we will need to be aware of or avoid when performing the Services, for instance; electrical areas, and areas prone to leaking and also if you have ever undertaken any other treatments on your premises. For instance; insect, ant, spider spraying or any other products applied/sprayed on the premises where the service is being provided.
2. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that occurs as a result of others’ failure to undertake or perform their responsibilities with care and due diligence, or faulty products or damaged products for instance; electrical fittings that are not water tight or have not been installed appropriately, aluminium joinery with faulty or damaged powder coating or any other chemical/product or spray that has been used on the premises which could react with the services provided to you.
3. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that may occur due to water ingress. We will take all care to mitigate or prevent to the best of our abilities, but will not be held responsible.
4. We will not be held liable for loss and damage of items or goods that have been left out, or not disconnected and can be exposed to the service being undertaken. For instance, water tanks that have not been disconnected from the roof catchment or vehicles parked within the premises.
5. If you want us to wash behind or below any items which are adjacent to the exterior of the Premises or on any surfaces that need washing, you will ensure that all such items (for instance; large pot plants and spa pools) are moved to enable us sufficient room to perform the Services.
6. You must ensure that we have adequate access to and from the Premises in order to perform the Services. You agree to provide us with information about any period during which access to the Premises is restricted or prohibited and details of any areas of the Premises which are secured or locked and special access is required and you agree to ensure that we are provided with access to such areas.
7. We will not be liable for any direct or indirect damage, economic loss of any kind or any other loss or expenses caused by or contributed by your failure to comply with our Instructions or the requirements of the clauses 3.1 to 3.5 and these terms and conditions.
8. You will still be liable for the price payable for the Services if we are unable to perform the Services due to circumstances within your control and your failure to comply with clauses 3.1 to 3.5 and these terms and conditions.
4. Limitation of Liability
1. We will take all reasonable care in performance of the Services, however, if we become liable to you, for any reason, for any loss, damage, harm or injury in any way connected with the supply of the Services, our liability shall be limited to a sum not exceeding the price payable by you for the Services. We will not be liable to you for any consequential loss of whatever nature suffered by you or any other person injured and indemnify us in respect of any claims concerning any such loss.
2. All claims must be made in writing and are subject to verification or acceptance by us. No claim for any loss, damage or injury arising out of the supply of the Services by us, may be brought more than 3 months after the date you become aware or reasonably ought to have been aware of the circumstances giving rise to the claim.
5. Our Indemnity
1. You will indemnify us for any physical, direct and indirect damage, economic loss or other loss or cost or expenses (including legal expenses on a solicitor and client basis), and will fully indemnify us against any claims or proceedings against us to the extent caused or contributed by you (or any of your agents or employees) or arising from a breach of these Terms.
6. Price
1. Unless otherwise stated, all quotes are inclusive of GST.
2. Our minimum charge is $125 incl. GST (Window Cleaning) and $189 incl. GST (Home SoftWashing)
7. Payment
You agree to the following:
1. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you must pay us in cleared funds within 7 days following the date of our invoice sent to you.
2. If we require you to pay a deposit this must be paid immediately on acceptance of our quote and is non-refundable.
3. Payment of any amounts owed to us must be free of any counterclaim, set-off, deduction or any other claim whatsoever.
4. If in our opinion your credit worthiness deteriorates before completion of the performance of our Services, we may require full or partial payment at any time or the provision of security in a form acceptable to us. If such payment or security is not provided we may cease supplying the Services.
8. Termination
If any of the events set out in the clauses above occur, we may, without prejudice to and in addition to any other rights or remedies we may have, exercise all or any of the following rights:
1. Delay the performance of the Services until the matter is resolved to our satisfaction;
2. Suspend or cancel in whole or in part these Terms or any other contract between us by written notice to you.
3. Recover from you all amounts for any damage, losses, cost or expenses including actual legal costs and expenses arising from your default or non-payment;
4. Charge and you must pay default interest at the rate of 22% per annum (calculated on a daily basis) until all amounts owed to us are paid in full including actual legal costs and other costs (including debt collection costs) and expenses incurred by or on behalf of us in enforcing or defending all or any of our rights (including our right to payment for any Services performed);
5. By notice to you require that all amounts owed to us whether due or not are paid immediately.
The events are:
1. Breach of your obligations (including payment obligations) under these Terms or any other contract with us;
2. You entering into any negotiations for any scheme of arrangement, composition or compromise with your creditors;
3. You, in our sole opinion, being unable to pay your debts (including contingent liabilities) as they fall due;
4. You passing any resolution to liquidate or becoming the subject of any liquidation proceedings;
5. A receiver or a receiver or manager appointed over the whole or part of your property or undertaking; or
6. You become bankrupt or commit an act of bankruptcy.
9. Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
1. You agree that the Services are performed for the purposes of the business and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 will not apply.
10. Warranties
1. All statutory, express or implied warranties by us including without limitation the implied warranties of merchant ability and fitness for any particular purpose are expressly excluded (to the extent permitted by law).
11. Services
We will use our reasonable endeavours to perform the Services on the date(s) set out in our quote or estimate.
You agree that we are not liable to perform the Services if:
1. We believe the conditions are not appropriate;
2. We believe that we would be breaching our obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015;
3. We do not have sufficient access to the premises to perform the Services; or
4. Clauses 3.1 to 3.5 are not complied with.
12. Health and Safety
We both agree to strictly comply with our obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) in relation to the provisions of the Services.
We agree to:
1. Adhere to any hazard or risk controls you notify to us;
2. Report any accidents or incidents to you;
3. Supply you with information about our health and safety plan on request.
You agree:
1. To meet with us when reasonably required by us to advise us of any particular hazard or risk that we may not be aware of,or familiar with and to discuss health and safety issues; and
2. If requested by us to provide us with details of your health and safety plan and any hazards associated with the Premises.
13. General
1. You agree that time is of the essence in respect of your obligations to us.
2. We will not be prevented from enforcing any of our rights under this agreement because on an earlier occasion we did not enforce those rights.
3. All notices to be given pursuant to this agreement will be given in accordance with sections 185 to 189 of the Personal Properties Securities Act 1999.
4. While you are not entitled to assign your rights under these terms we may.
5. You agree that we may issue any proceedings in respect of these terms in any court that suits us. The law that governs these terms is New Zealand law.
6. Any provision of these terms that is held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason shall be severed from and shall not affect the remaining provisions of these terms.
7. You agree that these terms and any estimate or quote we provide to you constitutes the entire understanding between us and that there have been no representations made by or on behalf of us that have been relied upon by you that are not contained in terms.
8. We may take photos and videos while undertaking the work. By accepting a quote, gives the right to use the photographs and/or videos on any medium, for any utilisation.
14. Changes
The SoftWash Company/Squee:gee Window Cleaning reserves the right to review these Terms and Conditions at any time. If, following any such review, there is to be any change, that change will take effect from the date on which The SoftWash Company/Squee:gee Window Cleaning provides notice of the same. If you do not agree with the changes, then you may stop using the Services.
